God has been working in our youth ministry. I see students taking the next step in their walk with Christ and leaders doing the same. We have students choosing to be baptized in just a couple weeks. 25 youth and leaders choosing to give an evening once a month in Winnipeg’s core to serve others. 15 youth and leaders choosing to give their whole Spring Break to serve the poor and disenfranchised in San Francisco. There are so many stories of growth and development… I wish I could share them all.
This is something that I look for regularly. It’s encouraging to see how God is working and it helps the leaders and I to know that what we’re doing is, at least in some way, effective.
As I consider the stories and evidences of growth in our group, I wonder how we could do even more. How we could create more environments to grow in. Because of this, I’ve been spending a lot of time in front of my idea board, thinking of new ways that we can connect as a community, new ways to spend time together, to model the Christian life and to grow together.
I’m excited for some of the possibilities, although I don’t think I’m quite ready to share them yet. These ideas still have some kinks in them that the leaders and I need to work out. I would love to hear what you think… what could we do? What would you like to see happen at youth or throughout the week?
